Concept:

A local band in Calgary, Alberta was seeking a unique logo that they could use for merchandise and marketing. They are a self proclaimed ‘jazz infused indie’ group who has very raw and honest lyrics.

An important piece of research/information revolved around speaking with the client(s) to learn more about the band. The name Yvette was chosen to honor the founding members mother – of whom greatly loved sunflowers (which was a symbol they’ve used in most of their previous visuals/deliverables).

Process:

The process creating this logo went through a few different variations before I settled on a particular style. It all came down to typography and refining the lines to make it look sleek – and resemble the feel the client was wanting.

Below you can see some of the early versions where the text is mainly what is changing, while the arching flower generally remains the same.
