Concept:
Create a brand guideline for company “Eight”, an organization that advocates for clean energy and combating climate change.
Process:
The first step was to create the companies logo in order to organize and design the brand guidelines. Based off of a past set of brainstorming sketches and notes, I created “Eight”. The integration of company title and imagery represents as a subtle, stand alone, image that can be used on branding materials.
Next the guideline document itself needed to be created. My original thought was considering the potential pro’s and con’s of condensing all relevant points onto a singular page. Making a list of the important and relevant information needed, I decided to break the page up into four sections.
A serif font was chosen to be paired with the logo to create contrast between the soft lines of the logo, and to create a more modern feel.
As an addition to this study, a simple business card and sample promotional material was constructed, as shown below.

Feedback:
- More specification to the height and width would help the brand stay consistent when used across different platforms.
- The black and white version of the logo should have been included in the guide.
- A vertical logo style might have created a more adaptable feel to the brand.
